This is the best thing I discovered this year. I loved just about everything about it. The characters are great and loveable and the plot really gripping (though I have to admit at times I was a bit confused as the author doesn't always tell the story in chronological order).Fantasy and crime are my two favourite genres and there are far too few books that combine those two genres. There is of course Harry Dresden whom I also love (and there are certain similarities: Peter Grant is also a quite sarcastic-humorous first person-narrator) but I also have some issues with him. Harry Dresden is certainly the unluckiest person in the world because just about everything goes wrong for him. So in the first few books I read he somehow got seriously injured halfway through and then just about everybody, friend and foe, is hunting him and then things get even worse...this was getting on my nerves and so I was a bit worried when towards the end, things also start to go Very Badly vor Peter Grant, but it is not quite as extreme as in the Harry Dresden novels and Peter eventually finds the time to take a deep breath and make a new plan.
