My friend explained this is basically "a German A-Team with Goethe, Schiller Kleist and other writers". Schiller has a crossbow and Humbolt a whip, people want to kill Goethe because of The Sorrows of Young Werther and the book opens with Goethe and Schiller in the most hillarious pub brawl.
(Sadly the Kindle-formatting is messed up so I need to order the old-fashioned book somewhere)
