This book can come in handy for any knitter, beginner or advanced. It provides some pretty basic information on choosing pattern and yarns for new knitters (though it also gives some tips that will be helpful for more experienced ones) and then continues with more info on “just” following a pattern (and what to do when you made a mistake). A large part is dedicated to adjusting patterns and this section is really in-depth: changing the size, changing the yarn, the colours as well as knitted flat to round or bottom-up to top-down (and reverse for both). There's hardly a knitter who won't find something helpful in there.
Even those who already finished the piece will still find something helpful in there as it also includes a section on how to care for knitted garments.
